10月からこのブログに月２回は英語のこと書こうと思っていたのに、もう10月が終わりそうです。
月日が経つのが早すぎて怖いです。
さて、今回は先週の金曜ロードショーで放送されたHarry Potterについてのお話。
久しぶりに観たけどやっぱり面白いですね。
字幕で観たらちょうどいい難易度って感じでした。
録画したのを頑張ってディクテーション（英語聞いてそのまま書き起こす）して、
内容とか単語とか小出しに載せていこうと思います！
まず冒頭。
ダンブルドア先生がハリーをダズリー家に預けるシーン。
Dumbledore(D): I should’ve known you would have been here Professor McGonagall.
McGonagall(M): Good evening Professor Dumbledore. Are the rumors true Albus?
D: I’m afraid so Professor. The good and the bad.
M: And the boy?
D: Hagrid is bringing him.
M: Do you think it wise to trust Hagrid with something as important as this?
D: I would trust Hagrid with my life.
Hagrid(H): Professor Dumbledore, sir. Professor McGonagall.
D: No problem I trust Hagrid?
H: No, sir. Little tyke fell asleep as we were frying over Bristol. Try not to wake him. There you go.
M: Albus, do you really think it’s safe leaving him with these people? I’ve watched them all day.
They’re the worst sort of Muggles imaginable. They really are–
D: The only family he has.
M: This boy will be famous. There won’t be know his name.
D: Exactly. He’s far better off growing up away from all of that. Until he is ready.
There, there Hagrid. It’s not really goodbye after all. Good Luck, Harry Potter.
ここまでわずか４分なのに、書き起こしするのに30分かかりました。しかも後からスクリプト見たら間違いの多いこと多いこと。

時間はかかるけど、勉強になるので続けていきましょう！
【単語】
・sorcere:魔法使い
★第１作目のタイトルが”Harry Potter and the Sorcere’s stone”です。
でも、本来というかイギリス版では”Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone”なのです。
作中の’Philosopher’s stone’「賢者の石」って中世ヨーロッパの錬金術に関する用語（ハガレンにも出てくる）ですが、アメリカだと伝わりにくいようで、「魔法使い」って意味の’sorcery’に変更されたようです。日本ってどっちで放送されたんだろ？何となくアメリカ版かな。
・rumor:噂
・the good and the bad:善悪、明暗、すべて（作中では「良い噂も悪い噂も」と訳されてたはず）
・wise:賢い、うまい
・tyke:小さい子供
・imaginable:想像通りの
・be far better off:いっそう安楽である
・There,there:よしよし（多分作中では「これこれ」みたいな意味）
全然蛇足ですが、今回のアイキャッチ画像はホグワーツの大広間のモデルになっているオックスフォードのクライストチャージ大学。
数年前に行って興奮しながら撮ってきました。また行きたいなあ・・・
