新しいお題が決まらないので、フルハウスのシーズン３ Epsode.16の冒頭シーンをピックアップ。
フルハウスの冒頭は本編と関係ない３分くらいのお話。
この冒頭だけでもめちゃくちゃ面白いので、何度でも見たくなります。

Danny: Okay, Michelle, it’s time to go over to the big-girl wall and see how much taller you are.
Joey: Okay, up against the wall, young lady.
Michelle: I’m very tall.
Danny: All right, Michelle. Arms down. Now stand up straight.
Joey: Okay. Let’s see. Now you’re…cheating.
Michelle: No tippy toes?
Joey: No tippy toes.
Michelle: Oh, nuts.
Danny: Okay, Michelle. But look at this, it’s good news. You’re half an inch taller!
Michelle: Big deal. See you.
単語やおもしろ表現
- the big-girl wall：多分ミシェルに合わせた造語。背をはかる壁。
- stand up straight：まっすぐ立つ
- cheating：不正行為、ずる。「ずるしたな」とか「こら（ずるはダメだよ）」みたいな意味。
- tippy toes：”tippy”が「不安定な」、”toe”が「つま先」なので、tippy toesでつま先立ちって感じかな？
- nuts：ナッツ、実、精神異常者、熱狂的な人。”Oh, nuts.”で「ちぇっ」「残念」と意訳されます。ミシェルの口癖。
- half an inch：２分の１インチ。1inch=2.54cmなので、half an inchで大体1cmちょい。
- Big deal：直訳は「大事、大したこと」という意味ですが、場面的に「はいはい」「つまんないの」と訳されます。超皮肉。
Danny: Okay, Michelle. But look at this, it’s good news. You’re half an inch taller!

Michelle: Big deal. See you.
